Chesterfield Canal meets the River Trent, 22nd January 2017

Today's walk ...
... started near the Post Office in Beckingam.

It was led by Dave, ably assisted by our apprentice Walks Leader Kassim (second from right above) and took us over fields to the Chesterfield Canal and along near Misterton to West Stockwith for lunch.  Then down the river and back to Beckingham across the flatlands of North Nottingham.  Here are some photographs taken on the walk and on the recce when the sun was out.

Oxton, 8th January 2017

Sue's excellent walk explored the undulating hills east of Oxton on good tracks and the odd (muddy) field of winter wheat, returning past the buried remains of Farnsfield Roman camp near Robin Hood Hill.

Here are some photographs.

Open fields ...
... distant views ...
... and good tracks, ...

... with atmospheric views and the odd stile (literally!).
